The founders of Outset looked around at the fledgling legal cannabis industry and saw an enormous opportunity for a unique product that would bucked the negative stoner stereotype. They created one of the first sustainable, low-dose options for health-conscious individuals who use cannabis medicinally. To reach these people, Outset needed bold messaging, a memorable packaging system, and a delivery strategy that would elevate their superior new edibles above the noise of a crowded cannabis market.
Outset had already realized that they could appeal to a new kind of consumer and looked to Grizzly to lead a brand and digital development project directly focused on capturing this newly defined segment of the cannabis community. Working closely with the team at Outset, we clarified the target audience for their product and built a cohesive logo and visual style that reflected the more mindful, mature approach to cannabis consumption. Coupled with a full messaging framework and stunning lifestyle photography, we announced Outset to the public through a responsive marketing landing page.
When Outset officially hit the shelves, it received a warm reception from customers, vendors, and the cannabis community at large. Online sales skyrocketed and consistently beat sales projections month over month. Outset was prominently featured across anchor digital and print cannabis publications as well, generating a flurry of local and national awareness. Thanks to this attention, the landing page won a Silver San Diego Addy in 2016.
